Chakra Meditation: Clear Your Energy in 15 Minutes a Day
Fifteen quiet minutes is all chakra meditation asks of you — and it is often enough to turn a heavy day around. No incense, no special cushion, no years of practice required. What you need is somewhere to sit, your own breath, and a clear idea of where to place your attention. Below is a straightforward chakra meditation you can run tonight, along with what each centre governs, so you understand why the practice works rather than simply repeating it.
What Chakra Meditation Actually Is
Meditation is attention. Chakra meditation is attention aimed deliberately at the energy centres that run from the base of your spine to the crown of your head. In the pranic tradition these centres act like transformers: they draw in prana — life energy — and feed it to your organs, glands and nervous system. When one centre is congested, everything it supplies runs short.
That is why the practice does two jobs at once. The steady breathing settles the mind, and the directed attention moves energy into the centres that need it. Most people find it more grounding than general mindfulness, because you are not only watching the breath — you are working with the energy system underneath it.
The Chakras You Are Working With
You do not need to memorise a chart, but knowing what sits where gives your attention somewhere useful to go:
- Root — base of the spine: safety, stability, the feeling of being grounded
- Sacral — lower abdomen: creativity, pleasure, healthy emotional flow
- Solar plexus — upper abdomen: confidence, willpower, digestion
- Heart — centre of the chest: love, connection, forgiveness
- Throat — base of the throat: honest expression, saying what you actually mean
- Third eye — between the brows: insight, intuition, clear thinking
- Crown — top of the head: stillness, perspective, spiritual connection
A practical starting point is honesty. The centre that feels tight, dull or over-active is usually the one asking for attention first.
A Chakra Meditation You Can Do Tonight
Work through these steps in order, eyes closed, giving each one a minute or two. The whole practice fits inside a quarter of an hour.
- Sit comfortably with your spine tall, feet flat on the floor and hands resting in your lap.
- Breathe slowly through the nose, letting the exhale run a little longer than the inhale. Ten breaths is enough to settle the body.
- Bring your attention to the base of your spine. Imagine a warm, steady light there and let it sit for a minute.
- Move upward one centre at a time — sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye. At each one, pause, breathe into it, and notice what arises without forcing anything.
- Finish at the crown of your head. Imagine light drawing gently upward, then let it settle back down through the whole body.
- Sit quietly for one more minute before opening your eyes. This is where the quiet work lands.
Repeat it daily for two weeks before you judge it. Consistency matters far more than length — a short practice you actually do beats a long one you keep postponing.
How to Tell It Is Working
The effects are usually quiet rather than dramatic. Most people notice:
- Warmth or a faint tingling in the palms and fingertips
- Shoulders and jaw releasing without you consciously relaxing them
- The mind running slower, with fewer loops on the same problem
- Falling asleep faster, or waking less through the night
- A steadier mood by mid-afternoon, where the dip used to hit
None of that is a high. It is the feeling of your system running at its natural rhythm again.
When Meditation Alone Is Not Enough
When congestion has sat in the energy field for months or years, daily practice can be slow going — the blockage simply sits deeper than attention reaches on its own. That is where a trained healer helps. In a pranic healing session the aura is scanned to locate the congested centres, the stagnant energy is swept out, and fresh prana is directed into the chakras that need it. No touching, no needles, nothing invasive.
I am a certified pranic healer trained through the International Institute of Pranic Healing. I work in person at Macquarie Park in Sydney and by distance healing anywhere in Australia, seven days a week from 8 am to 8 pm, so there is always a time that fits around work and family.
See the full range of what I offer on the services page, read more about energy healing on the blog, or get in touch through the contact page. If the same heaviness keeps returning no matter what you try, book a session and let the deeper layer of the work be done for you.
