Pranic Healing Techniques: What Hands Actually Do

Most people arrive at a first session with a vague picture: hands moving over a body, some warmth, a feeling of calm afterwards. What actually happens is more specific. Pranic healing runs on a small set of techniques, and each one has a job — read the energy body, clear what no longer belongs there, then put fresh energy back in.

I practise pranic healing in Sydney and online for clients anywhere in Australia. Nothing involves touch, pressure or massage — it is all done with the hands held a hand’s width off the body, working through the energy field.

The Scan: Reading the Energy Body First

Every session begins the same way. Before anything is cleared, the field is scanned. The hands move slowly over the body, a few centimetres away, feeling for differences — warmth, heaviness, a pull, or a patch that feels dense where the rest feels light. That is the map. It shows where energy is congested and where it is depleted, and it decides what the rest of the session looks like. It is observation, not diagnosis.

Sweeping: Clearing What Has Been Used Up

Once the congested areas are known, the used energy is swept out. The hands move in a downward brushing motion away from the body, clearing the field layer by layer. It is the cleaning half of the work, and in pranic healing it comes first — you clear before you fill.

The same handful of things come up:

  • A heaviness lifting from the shoulders or the chest
  • Warmth, or the opposite — a coolness moving across the skin
  • Breathing that slows down without being asked to
  • An urge to sigh, swallow, or let the jaw go slack

No touch is involved anywhere in this stage.

Energising: Putting Fresh Prana Back In

A cleared area is an empty area, so the next step is to refill it. Energising means directing fresh prana into the part of the energy body that was depleted, with the hands projecting rather than pressing. It is the quieter half of a session, and where most of the time sits.

Colour is used as shorthand for what the energy is being directed at: white as general light, green where the work is cleansing, purple where it moves into meditative and psychotherapeutic territory, gold where the work is about renewal.

Techniques You Can Use Between Sessions

Not everything sits with the practitioner. Several techniques are taught to clients directly, because the work holds better when it is supported at home:

  • Twin Hearts meditation — a guided sitting practice, twenty to twenty-five minutes
  • Self-sweeping — brushing used energy away from your own arms, legs and head
  • The energising breath — a slow counted breath used to draw prana in deliberately
  • A short daily practice at a fixed time, which matters more than a long one done rarely

What These Techniques Are Not

It is worth being plain about the edges of this work. A session is not massage, no clothes come off, and there is no manipulation of the body. It is not a replacement for medical care either — energy work sits alongside medical treatment, never instead of it.

I do not promise outcomes. What clients most often mention afterwards is quieter than that: a sense of being less loaded, arriving over the days that follow rather than in the room.

Signs You Are Ready for a Session

Most people who book have been carrying something for a while. The signs are rarely dramatic:

  • You have done the sensible things — rest, exercise, time off — and the heaviness is still there
  • Your sleep has changed and you cannot work out why
  • You hold tension in the same place every day: jaw, shoulders, chest or stomach
  • You are curious about energy healing but want to know what happens before you book
  • You would rather work alongside your medical care than instead of it

If any of those sound familiar, a first session is a low-risk way to find out.

Where to Start

The techniques above are what a session is built from, and they run in the same order every time. For the bigger picture, read Pranic Healing Benefits: What Changes After a Session, or what distance clients notice in Live Energy Healing: What You Actually Feel. The services page sets out what in-person and distance sessions involve. And if you are ready, get in touch and tell me what you have been carrying — in-person sessions are in Sydney, distance sessions anywhere in Australia.

Pranic healing techniques are simple to describe and slower to feel. That is the honest version. Book a session, and judge it on what you notice in the days afterwards.
