Pranic Healing Chakras: What Each One Does
Most people meet the word chakra long before they understand what it has to do with healing. In the pranic system it is not decoration and it is not a metaphor. The chakras are the working centres a practitioner reads and cleanses, the places where the energy body actually moves.
If you have had a session, you already know the feeling of something shifting with no one touching you. If you have not, the chakra map is the clearest way in. Here is what each centre does, and how a session works with them.
What the Chakras Are in Pranic Healing
A chakra is an energy centre that draws in and distributes prana, the life force, to a particular region of the body and a particular part of your inner life. This tradition works with eleven major chakras, each one a rotating wheel with its own job to do.
The practitioner does not approach a chakra as an idea. It is scanned, and a scan reads as a texture. A centre can run congested and dull, or depleted and thin. What shows up in the scan usually matches what the person already feels but has not put into words.
The Eleven Major Chakras and What Each One Governs
In this tradition the eleven are mapped like this.
- The basic chakra, at the base of the spine, relates to physical energy, stability and the will to survive
- The sex chakra relates to creative drive and vitality
- The meng mein chakra, at the back of the navel, regulates the flow of energy through the whole system
- The navel chakra carries physical drive, digestion and the appetite for effort
- The spleen chakra is linked to the cleansing of the blood and the drawing in of fresh prana
- The solar plexus chakra governs the emotions and the gut reactions that arrive before thought
- The heart chakra holds love, joy and the ability to give and to receive
- The throat chakra rules expression and the honesty of speech
- The ajna chakra, between the eyebrows, carries intuition and clear seeing
- The forehead chakra relates to the mind and to mental clarity
- The crown chakra connects you to a higher source and to a sense of purpose
Eleven centres, each with its own work. Most of what a person brings to a session, whether that is tension, tiredness or grief, points to one or two of them rather than the whole system.
How a Session Works With the Chakras
A session follows a fixed and unremarkable order, and that steadiness is part of its calm.
- You stay seated or lying down, fully clothed, with no oil and no touch on the skin
- The hands hover a short distance away, scanning the chakras and the surrounding aura first
- Stagnant or congested energy is swept out of the affected centres and the field around them
- Fresh prana is then drawn in and directed to re-energise what has been cleansed
- A first session runs about an hour and closes with a short review
The cleansing stage is the one most people feel. If the process is new to you, how pranic healing works walks through it plainly from arrival to finish.
Signs a Chakra May Be Congested or Depleted
- A heaviness or ache in one part of the body that rest and sleep do not clear
- Emotions that arrive too fast, or a flatness where feeling used to be
- Feeling unable to say what you mean even when you know the words
- A tiredness that follows you through the day no matter how you slept
- A sense that something is stuck, without being able to name it
None of this is a diagnosis, and pranic healing makes no medical claim. These are the inner patterns the work reads. If one has been circling for a while, the base of the system is a good place to begin. Root chakra healing covers the basic chakra in its own right.
The Chakra System Is Not Fixed
A chakra is not a permanent verdict. The centres shift with sleep, stress, grief and ordinary life, which is exactly why they respond to cleansing and re-energising. A heart centre that reads dull one week can read clear the next.
That is also why the work is usually repeated rather than done once. People often book a short series, notice the pattern that keeps returning, then settle into their own rhythm. For a closer look at keeping the centres in balance, chakra balancing goes deeper.
