Energy Healing for Panic Attacks: Calm the Body First
A panic attack arrives before you can argue with it. Heart rate up, breath short, the sense that something is badly wrong and there is no way out — and then it passes, and you spend the rest of the day waiting for the next one. Energy healing does not talk you out of a panic attack, and no honest practitioner claims it does. What it works on is the charged state the body stays in between attacks.
This is not a substitute for medical or psychological care. Assessment and any treatment plan belong with your GP and your psychologist, and pranic healing sits alongside that care rather than in place of it. The question worth answering is narrower: what actually happens in a session, and what you would be paying attention to afterwards.
What a Pranic Healing Session Actually Involves
A pranic session is no-touch. You stay fully clothed, seated or lying down, and nothing is pressed, stretched or manipulated. The practitioner works in the energy field around and through the body. Three phases are usually felt as distinct.
- Scanning — reading the energy body to find where the field is congested or thinned out, rather than working from a symptom checklist
- Sweeping — clearing used, stagnant energy away from those areas, with green prana doing the cleaning work
- Energising — directing fresh prana back into the cleared areas, most often as white or gold light, so the field is left even rather than depleted
Sessions run about an hour. Some people feel heat, a loosening across the chest, or a wave of tiredness during the sweep. Others feel very little and sleep heavily that night. Both responses are ordinary, and neither is a measure of how the session went.
Why Panic Shows Up in the Energy Body
In the pranic view the body and the mind are not separate from the field. A nervous system that has been running hot reads as a field that is uneven — energy pulled forward and upward into the centres that carry alarm, and thin at the centres that carry steadiness. That is a description of a state, not a diagnosis, and it does not replace anything a clinician can tell you about how panic works.
Two centres come up most often in this work.
- The solar plexus chakra, where the gut-level alarm sits — the part of you that reacts before the reasoning arrives
- The heart centre, which is where the adrenaline wash tends to leave the field feeling hollowed out afterwards
The work is unglamorous. It is repetitive clearing and re-energising, session after session, and clients usually describe it as a settling rather than a fix. If the framework is new to you, how pranic healing works walks through it from the first scan to the close of a session.
What People Commonly Report — and What Is Not Claimed
People who bring panic to this work most often describe the same handful of things: an easier time coming down after a spike, a shorter gap between feeling the first flutter and noticing it, and steadier sleep in the days afterwards. Those are reports rather than promises, and they vary from person to person.
It is worth being plain about the limits. Pranic healing is not a crisis service. If you are in acute distress, contact your GP or Lifeline on 13 11 14 — those are the right doors when something needs immediate attention. What a session offers is a way of working with the state the body keeps returning to, alongside the care that addresses the cause.
- It does not replace medication, therapy or medical assessment
- It is not a crisis line and not a substitute for emergency care
- It works best alongside treatment rather than instead of it
Signs You Are Ready to Work on the Pattern
Most people know when panic has started running the schedule. The signs are usually these.
- You plan routes, meetings or outings around where an attack might happen
- You feel the build-up in your chest before you can name what set it off
- You have tried pushing through it, and pushing through has not shifted it
- Your sleep has thinned out, or you wake already braced for the day
- You are ready to work on the state underneath the attacks, not only the worst moments
If any of those lands, this is worth a conversation rather than a leap.
