Energy Healing After Surgery: What Actually Happens

Surgery leaves most people with a strange stretch of time. The operation is over, the follow-up appointments are booked, and then you sit at home in a body that does not quite feel like yours yet. You cannot train, cannot work the way you did, and cannot do much more than rest. That is the window where people start asking about energy healing after surgery.

So here is the honest version of what a pranic healing session looks like in that window. No touching of incisions. No promises about replacing your surgeon’s plan. Just a structured, quiet session on the energy body, on a chair or a treatment table, fully clothed.

Why People Book in the Weeks After an Operation

In my practice in Sydney, the reasons people give are rarely dramatic. They are usually something like this:

  • Recovery is boring and unsettling at the same time, and they want something that is not scrolling
  • They feel flat, foggy or restless, and want an hour where nothing is demanded of them
  • They are carrying worry about the outcome and want somewhere to put it
  • Sleep has gone sideways since the operation and they want to settle before the night
  • They want to feel like a person again, not a patient waiting for a wound to close

The physical work belongs to your medical team. What a pranic session offers is a different kind of support: settling the system, and giving the body a calm hour to work in.

What Happens in the Session

A pranic healing session follows the same structure as any other session, adapted for someone who is recently post-operative and moving carefully.

  • You stay fully clothed and sit forward on a chair, or lie on a treatment table if that is comfortable
  • There is no massage and no pressure anywhere on the body
  • My hands work in the space above you, well clear of the surgical site and any dressing
  • The first part is cleansing, clearing used-up energy away from the energy body
  • The second part is energising, bringing fresh prana back in to support the areas that feel depleted
  • Sessions run about 45 to 60 minutes, and you can stop or adjust position at any point

If travel is difficult, distance sessions work the same way over a call at an agreed time. Plenty of people use those in the first fortnight after an operation, then come in person once they are driving again. You can read more about how the pranic healing process runs before you decide.

Working Around Tender Areas

The practical rule is simple: the physical site is off limits and the energy body is the work. Hands stay well away from the body, never on it. Dressings stay exactly as your team left them. No oils, no heat, no stretching, no movement that pulls on stitches.

I ask three things before we start. Clearance from your surgeon or GP that there is no reason not to sit quietly for an hour. Where the tender zones are, so I work around them rather than over them. And what your medication schedule looks like, so the session fits around it rather than competing with it. If someone is groggy on strong pain relief, we reschedule.

Where the operation has left ongoing discomfort, the approach is the same one I use in pranic healing for pain: gentle, slow, and built around what you can tolerate on the day.

What It Does Not Do

Pranic healing is complementary work. It is not a substitute for surgery, medication, physiotherapy or any part of your medical plan, and it is not an alternative to a follow-up appointment you would rather skip.

  • It will not replace prescribed pain relief, and you should not change a dose because of a session
  • It is not a reason to delay a scan, a review or a physio program
  • It does not make a wound close faster, and I will not tell you it does
  • What people report is a settled nervous system, better sleep, and a clearer head. Those are reports rather than promises

What to Ask Before You Book

Any practitioner should be happy to answer these plainly. If they are not, that tells you something.

  • What does the session involve, and will you be touching the surgical area at all
  • Have you worked with people in the weeks after an operation before
  • What is your position on working alongside medical care

I have completed my Pranic Healing training and I work with prana, the life force, to cleanse and energise the energy body. I do not perform surgery, prescribe, or diagnose, and I say so at the start of every session. If you want to know what a session costs and where it happens, the contact page covers it.

If you are in that flat, restless stretch of recovery and want an hour that asks nothing of you, get in touch and we will work out what suits your body right now.
