Pranic Self-Healing: What You Can Do Yourself
Yes, you can practise pranic self-healing on yourself. It is the part of the work most people never get taught, and it is the part that changes how you get through a hard week.
Pranic healing works on the energy body, the layer of prana that sits around and through the physical body. In a session, a practitioner scans that field, clears what is congested, then energises what is depleted. Pranic self-healing is the same two moves, done with your own hands, on your own body, in your own lounge room.
What Pranic Self-Healing Actually Is
It is not meditation, although it borrows the quiet. It is directional: hands, attention, breath and intention, aimed at one specific area rather than everything at once.
It works on the energy body, not on tissue, organs or a diagnosis. If something physical is going on, that is a conversation for your doctor. Self-healing sits beside medical care. It does not stand in for it.
And it is short. Five to fifteen minutes done often will do more than an hour done once and then forgotten.
The Two Moves: Cleanse, Then Energise
Every pranic self-healing routine is built on the same pair of actions, and the order matters.
- Cleanse first. Sweep your hands down and away from the area, then flick off what you have drawn out. You are moving congestion out before fresh prana goes in.
- Use a colour if it helps. In the pranic tradition, white is used for general cleansing light, green for cleaning work, purple for emotional or spiritual material, and golden when you want to rebuild after a long stretch of depletion. There is a short guide to Pranic Healing Colors if you want the detail.
- Energise second. Hands hovering a few centimetres off the body, hold the intention and breathe slowly. Ten breaths is enough.
- Close on the breath, slow and even, in through the nose. The Pranic Healing Breathing Technique does more of the work than most people expect.
- Wash your hands afterwards in cold water, wrists to fingertips. It takes twenty seconds and it settles you.
If you want the mechanics of the scan and the sweep, Pranic Healing Techniques goes further than a blog post can.
Where Self-Healing Stops
Here is the honest part. Someone who has read a few pages can move their own energy around and feel steadier afterwards, and that is worth having. What they usually cannot do is see around their own blind spots. You cannot scan the room you are standing in.
- You cannot assess your own energy body objectively. You tend to feel what you expect to feel.
- Long-standing patterns, grief that has settled in or stress held in the same place for years, usually need a second set of hands.
- Anything acute, severe or changing needs a doctor first, not a healer.
- Self-healing is maintenance. A full session is closer to a service.
In my Sydney practice, I teach the basic routine in the last ten minutes of a session. That is the work that holds, because it is the work you can repeat on a Tuesday night. Sessions run in person in Sydney and by distance anywhere in Australia.
Making It Stick: Five Minutes, Same Time
- Anchor it to something you already do: after the shower, before bed, after the school drop-off.
- Pick one area for the first month. Not the whole body.
- Keep a note of what you noticed. Patterns show up over weeks, not minutes.
- Stop if you feel lightheaded, and eat something.
- Skip it on days you are rushed. Rushed energy work is standing still with your hands out.
Signs You Are Ready to Work With a Healer
Most people who come to me have already tried doing it themselves. The signs are usually the same.
- You have been practising, and the same issue keeps returning to the same spot.
- Something has shifted and you want an outside read on it.
- You are carrying grief, stress or a decision that has outgrown what you can hold alone.
- You want to learn the scanning properly instead of guessing at it.
- You have never had a session and want to know what happens before you book.
If any of those landed, get in touch. Or read what happens in a pranic healing session first, so you know exactly what you are walking into.
